Colonic Irrigation. The Treatment.
Colonics, quite simply explained is a flush of the entire 5 to 6 foot length Of the lower intestine from rectum to cecum with the aid of purified water (at around body temperature).
Coupled with abdominal massage this flushing process allows trapped waste matter to become detached from the colon walls and flow away gently when the water is expelled.
Colonic Hydrotherapy is quite often confused with an enema but is a far more penetrating cleanse than this. Prior to your first Colonics session, you will fill out a quite exhaustive personal questionnaire to rule out any contra indications and give Charlotte a good insight into how your body has been functioning up to this time. A blood pressure and heart rate check will follow and all being well, the colonic treatment itself.
A number of colonic hydrotherapy sessions would generally be required in order to get the system flushed out totally and there are different schools of thought on this.
It depends largely on the individual and the diet they have been following. We generally find a course of 4 sessions in quite close succession has our clients leaving us, very happy with the results.
Contra Indications for Colonic Irrigation
These are some of the symptoms and diseases which would prevent a Colonic Irrigation going ahead.
- Abdominal Hernia
- Crohn's disease
- Excessively high blood pressure
- Severe Haemorrhoid
- Abdominal Hernia
- Open wounds around rectal area
- Severe anaemia
- Poor heart condition
- Cancer
- Intestinal Ulcer
- Recent operation (less than 6 months)
We also wouldn't treat ladies during pregnancy and upto 6 months after, particularly if it was a difficult labour and birth
What Will Colonic Irrigation Do For Me?
A lot of clients generally present with acute constipation. Anyone who suffers from bloating, abdominal distention, gas pains, stomach aches, or someone who gets filled very quickly after eating and can only eat small amounts of food may be a candidate for colonic irrigation. People who suffer from skin problems can also benefit from this treatment too.
The skin is the largest excretory organ in the human body. Unhealthy skin can be a very clear indicator of an unhealthy colon. In short the colon has links to all the major organs in the body. So if it isn't functioning 100% then other parts of the body can be affected.

Colonic Irrigation first session includes an
extensive consultation consisiting of Heart rate and Blood Pressure
Checks, Eye & Tongue analysis & Nutritional & Medical
background checks. This is free as part of the first session.
Should it not be possible to carry out the treatment
due to an underlying contra indication then your therapist would
suggest a visit to your GP to obtain a letter of referral and a €40
charge would be made for the consultation (deductable from course price
when you return to us).
Nutritional advice is given during this and all subsequent sessions.
We would always recommend a course of at least 4 sessions for any clients new to Colonic Irrigation treatments.
In some cases it may be necessary to have more than 4 sessions and the
extra sessions may be added for the deal price provided the first 4
were paid after the first session.
All sessions in any course deal are open for 12 months (subject to booking availability).
As it is usually necessary to have a maintenance session every 6 to 12
months why not save by buying a large course and using left over
sessions at a later date.
The six session and eight session deal may be split
with a friend or partner provided full payment is made for the full
deal after the first session by whoever goes first.
It is advisable to at least book the first 4
sessions well in advance in order for the best continuity and therefore
the best possible outcome from your course.
